Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:

  • Setup, operate, and program CNC ProtoTRAK lathes & mills
  • Setup and operate manual lathes and mills
  • Re-machine parts for repair
  • Saw cutting
  • Surface grinding
  • Sanding and deburring of final parts
  • Routine shop maintenance


  • Experience programming and operating CNC machines (lathes, mills, etc.)
  • Experience in manual machining (lathes, mills, etc.)
  • Experience with vertical machining center
  • Experience with Wire EDM machining a plus
  • Experience in FeatureCam software a plus
  • Understanding of materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
  • Experience working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as plastics
  • Have basic machinist’s tools necessary to perform job functions
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks as directed
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be highly detail oriented; attentive to accuracy, efficiency and neatness
  • Displays enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills



Barrett Machine, Inc., located in Winchester, Virginia, is seeking a CAD Design Specialist to assist our machine shop, metal fabrication shop, and industrial services divisions. 

Responsibilities, include but not limited to:

  • Produce detailed and accurate project and shop drawings
  • Collaborate with sales project managers and shop supervisors on drawings and projects
  • Communicate with all personnel, customers, and vendors


  • Proficient in AutoCAD software
  • Experience in 3D Autodesk Inventor software preferred
  • Experience with Hypertherm software preferred
  • Working knowledge of machining, welding, and metal fabrication
  • Possess strong math skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Possess basic knowledge of weld symbols
  • Understand the basics of steel fabrication (layout, sawing, bending, burning, welding)
  • Possess the ability to obtain measurements in the field or via samples
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a given time
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced job shop environment
